Sudbury, ONTARIO CANADA – Sudbury Tourism and seven local
attractions joined forces today to launch an exciting new cultural
tourism initiative for Summer 2005. The Greater Sudbury Cultural
Passport provides admissions, coupons and special offers from museum
and gallery attractions all over the city, providing new incentive
to explore some of Sudbury's hidden gems.
"Greater Sudbury has strong and diverse cultural roots,”
said Mayor David Courtemanche. “This passport will encourage
visitors and residents alike to explore our community’s history,
its commitment to the arts, its bilingual nature and its accessible
outdoors.”
“The Greater Sudbury Cultural Passport makes an ideal addition
to Science North and Dynamic Earth for visitors to Sudbury,”
said Rob Skelly, Manager of Tourism, Culture and Marketing. "It
puts together different opportunities for visitors to experience
our city and encourages them to stay longer."
The $10.00 passport combines admissions with special discounts,
tours with experts and hands-on experiences at the following attractions:
- The Art Gallery of Sudbury
- The Centre franco-ontarien de folklore (CFOF)
- The Northern Ontario Railway Museum
- Sudbury Discoveries
- Greater Sudbury Heritage Museums
- The Parker House Inn.
The Passport also includes a Grand Prize Draw for a "Flight
Seeing Adventure" for four with Sudbury Aviation, courtesy
of Sudbury Discoveries.
August in Sudbury is also the best time to taste all the Wild Blueberry
treats being cooked up by local food outlets. Although it is too
late for the 2005 Blueberry Festival Put the 2006 Blueberry Festival
on your calendar now.
