WE ALL REMEMBER CARAVAN !
IT'S BACK UNDER ONE ROOF AT DOWNSVIEW PARK !
TORONTO, ON

– May 25, 2005 – International Caravan 2005, for the first time in its 37 year history, will be held under one roof at Downsview Park from Tuesday, June 21st through Monday, July 4th this summer. As opposed to the familiar Pavilions around the City of Toronto, and for the convenience of its visitors, Caravan will hold the celebration of over 50 countries from around the world in 200,000 sq. ft.indoors, with an additional 9 acres outside.

Visitors will enjoy – Cultural Pavilions depicting heritage; Traditional Dance Troupes on stage 12 hours a day with over 200 flying in from around the world; Authentic Cuisine in the International Food Court to tantalize taste buds; International Beer Gardens; International Bazaar; International Art Gallery featuring 22 countries; International Men's Soccer Tournament; Caravan Fashions Competition; Kids World; and much, much more. And all designed for family fun value with a 14-day single ticket price starting at just $35 and a family pass just $80 (includes 2 adults and 4 children under 16).

Passionate President, Kirk Jensen says, "If I take the time to learn more about your cultural background, then I get to know you better as a person. Once I have that understanding, we will most likely get along better – now that I understand what you do, and why you do it. Now I can respect our differences, and we can get along as brothers and sisters. In the long run, we will live in a more harmonious and peaceful neighborhood. It is indeed misunderstanding or ignorance that drives fears and aggression".

The opening ceremonies start Aboriginal Day, June 21 st, continue through St. Jean Baptiste Day (June 24th), Canada Day celebrations on July 1st, and runs right through to US Independence Day, concluding July 4th, 2005. Doors are open 12 hours a day from 11:00am to 11:00pm. Passports are now available on-line at www.internationalcaravan.org, and at Shoppers Drug Mart locations in Ontario from June 1 st, or through any participating community organization.
