The fall colour season has now come to an end in eastern Ontario.
Niagara Falls RegionThe colours are now well past peak in the Niagara Falls region. There is about 70% leaf fall. The area has some small pockets of red, dull orange and yellow remaining. Over the fall colour period the drive along the Niagara Parkway, from Niagara on the Lake to Fort Erie, is simply outstanding. The recreation trail that runs parallel to the parkway is excellent for walking or cycling. The view from the lookout along the parkway, just north of the Floral Clock, of the Niagara on the Lake region and the Niagara River is simply beautiful. The many side roads leading to the wineries and orchards offer an excellent fall colour experiences as well. Greater Toronto RegionThe fall colour season is winding down in Toronto and further north to the York Region with about 80% leaf fall. There are some small pockets of dull colour remaining. The High Park area of Toronto always offers an excellent fall colour walk. The Toronto conservation areas such as the Kortright Centre for Conservation at Kleinburg and Bruce’s Mill Conservation Area near Stouffville are excellent locations for a fall hike as well. Contact:
