COUNTRY MUSIC TELEVISION TO FILM PAUL BRANDT CHRISTMAS SPECIAL IN BANFF/LAKE LOUISE

BANFF/LAKE LOUISE – December 5 – the Banff/Lake Louise area, in cooperation with Country Music Television, will host Paul Brandt, Canada's most awarded Male Country artist in Canadian history, for the filming of a special Paul Brandt Rocky Mountain Christmas program that will be broadcast in November 2006. Paul Brandt will perform with several other top musicians at a free concert at 6pm on Friday, December 9 in Banff.

"This is a tremendous honour for Banff Lake Louise and Banff National Park to be chosen as a venue for this special program as we celebrate the start of our winter season," says Cameron Spence, Director of Sales for Banff/Lake Louise Tourism. "We recently held two very successful World Cup downhill ski races in Lake Louise and now we have the opportunity to showcase our alpine community of Banff as a backdrop to Mr. Brandt's incredible talents."

The Television special will be filmed over four days from December 5 – 9. With the final day of shooting featuring a free, open-air concert in Banff's Central Park. The audience is asked to bring a non-perishable food item, or cash to support Santa's Anonymous.

The television special is scheduled to air several times in October and November 2006.

Paul Brandt is the most awarded Male Country artist in Canadian history. Not only has his song writing taken him to the top of the American and Canadian charts, his music has caught the ear of some of the biggest names in the business. In 2003, Paul's first outside cut was a song called 'For You' which was written for the Mel Gibson film soundtrack accompanying the epic movie 'We Were Soldiers', and recorded as a duet by Dave Matthews and the legendary Johnny Cash. Mr. Brandt has been awarded with 12 CCMA's and 6 Junos (Canada's Grammy)
