Recreational Snowmobiling is a Canadian phenomenon created by Bombardier...needless to say this sport is extremely popular in snow and resort destinations north of major cities across the Canadian north.
The provinces of Ontario and Quebec are perhaps the busiest snowmobile destinations for the north central and north eastern parts Of North America. Ontario CanadaSnowmobiling is a winter sport activity north of Toronto. Many communities allow snowmobiles on town & city streets and road ways as a primary source of transportation. There are more than 50 snowmobile getaways available at resorts, lodges and inns from Barrie to Timmins, the Ottawa Valley to Haliburton, Muskoka, to the Sault. Quebec Canada According to the Tourism Quebec webiste, he regions of Abitibi-Témiscamingue and Saguenay—Lac-Saint-Jean can each boast some 3,500 km (2,175 mi.) of trails. Other regions popular for snowmobiling are the Outaouais, Laurentides and Lanaudière on the north shore of the St. Lawrence, and the Gaspésie, Chaudière-Appalaches and Montérégie on the river’s south shore. All of these regions offer up detailed trail maps.
