Fireworks on the Monday of the May 21 weekend (This year it is on the 21of May) is a Canadian tradition, often called 
"Firecracker Day".   Usually a combination of fireworks displays put on by local towns and cities and ones you purchase for the backyard.

Virgil-Niagara on the Lake Fireworks
