Canada's last summer long weekend is the Labour Day public statutory holiday on Monday September 6 2010.  A variety of Labour Day events, festivals, parades and end of the summer picnics take place before the kids head back to school.   Beaches in Canada will be busy over the Labour Day weekend, as many Canadians sneak away early for a 4  or 5 day long holiday vacation before school begins.  Many other Canadians will be watching the Labour Day Classic Football games  Summer getaways offer long weekend opportunities where kids can experience getaways to exciting Canadian events and festivals. The next official holiday long weekend is the Canadian Thanksgiving Weekend in October.

The piece is costing the gallery about $1 million and is scheduled to be complete and erected by Labour Day.
Paine’s tapered metal tree, titled One Hundred Foot Line, will be rooted in a massive concrete and metal slab and thrust upward 30.5 meters (100 feet) from its 1.6 meter wide base. More info on Ottawa, and Ottawa Valley area of Ontario.
